Trying to install IK Download Centre - trouble with WINE
I am trying to install this file but WineTricks does not have it on the list, and I am not sure what "prefixes" if that's what I need, to use or other steps...I thought it would be as simple as installing wine and winetricks then run the .exe hahaha!
So any help appreciated. Just started today with linux |

Hi, I've never used winetricks to install IK Multimedia apps, just a plain command,
Code:
wine "Install IK Product Manager (v.1.0.2).exe" or in windows paths. So a path including the Program Files folder, would be quoted from the "P to the end of the particular line" like Code:
cd .wine/drive_c/"Program Files/IK Multimedia" as to be avoided, to aid in accurate bug-reports, but in a stock distro wine installation, that might be less of an issue. And helpful with certain microsoft dependencies. The new IK download manager is pretty rigorous compared to the previous one. The old one should still work to install and register their products. I tried the new one on Amplitube 5 SE, that was bundled with an interface. It worked, but presented some blank screens that I waited 'too long' for, but eventually the real gui appeared, while I was making coffee, and did finish the job OK Last edited by 4duhwinnn; 04-30-2021 at 12:05 AM. |

Cool, thanks. I read somewhere (can't remember where, been reading all over haha!) that some are having success by downloading the actual .exe files from the IK account and then running that, bypassing the Product Manager totally...I didn't get far enough to read if the authorisation worked too haha, but I am guessing I could do an offline autho anyways...
