Symbols for volume, pan, inserts, etc.
I'm currently trying to replace some of the text on the automation panel request(see link below) with symbols.
As so many folks with graphic design skills congregate here, and this might be an interesting topic for themes as well, I thought I'd solicit ideas for better symbols if possible.
The state of affairs so far is this:
For example, I'm not quite happy about the pan symbol(the dual knobs set to 10:00 and 14:00). An idea I was toying with was a 1/4 pie facing down with the pointy end.
The volume was chosen to be a large knob, because I didn't want it to be the insert symbol rotated by 45 degrees, but there are probably better ways.

Some small developments, hot off the pixel press.
I gave the window-wiper pan symbol a try. Feedback always welcome.

Does anyone have ideas for better symbols for volume, panning, insert plugins, sends and tracks (the long "=" button) ?

If I saw they gain button by itself, my first guess would be a pan knob. With the windshield wiper pan button below it, the process of elimination leads to its function pretty easily. I think I am used to sliders for gain, but I do not know how to put that on a button.
Sorry, no suggestions, just comments. Looks good, though.

I'd say they look reasonable... not sure I love the 'wiper' pan but don't have a great image to provide...
