Default How to configure Omnisphere 2 correctly

Hello FOlks,

Newbie here! I am trying to setup Omnisphere with Reaper for the first time and I cannot for the life of me get it working. To clarify, I can get 1 track working with 1 sound at a time, but If I try to setup Omnisphere to be Multi Timbrel (using 8 tracks all sending through the Omnisphere virtual instrument) all the other 7 tracks dont work.

To start off, I am using a Code 49 midi controller connected to my computer, and I use the Pod UX2 as my sound card. My Code 49 is connected via USB.

I watched a video on the internet that showed how to do it in an earlier version (or he had acustom UI, I dont know) and I followed the guys instructions precisely and it doesnt work.

Here is what I did:

1. Insert new virtual instrument track (I will call this track Omnisphere)
2. Add 2 new tracks (track 1 and track 2)
3. Click on the routing button for track 1 and add a new send to Omnisphere on channel 1
4. Click on the routing button for track 2 and create a new send to omnisphere on channel 2
5. in omnisphere fx window go to multi and setup an instrument on channel 1 and 2
6. Arm track 1 for recording and enable record monitoring
7. play the keyboard, I hear the 1st instrument, great!
8. disarm track 1, and arm track 2. Enable record monitoring on track 2
9. Play my keyboard, nothing. No sound, no activity, nothing.

In my midi device setup I have both input and outputs enabled for my code 49. I am completely stumped! It should be working and its not.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks!

So, I should have watched some basic reaper usage videos as the whole problem was my 'Omni Midi' tracks were using a general Midi input and it needed to be set to my devices input (M audio Code 49). Once I did that my whole problem was solved.

Well DONE! And of course welcome to the forums.

Ten minutes to answer your own question - you are going to fit right in here.

Worth spending some time with the User Guide and the excellent video tutorials, all free and all at reaper.fm.

Have fun!
