Default Yamaha Motif ES8 - any help with?

I have an artist who uses the Motif and has no clue as to what it can do.
Can anyone here tell me how to record from the Yamaha to a flash drive as a mid file so I can use that to build tracks for her? It's easier to bring a flash drive over to the house than that monster of a keyboard.

I tried the motif forum but it's a jungle....

Hi Poppa=

I don't have an ES8, but with the Motif6 Classic I can save my SONGS or PATTERNS to File Type "SMF" (Standard MIDI file) on a memory card. In other words, the Motif comes with a built-in "SmartCard" reader/writer. If you have a compatible card reader you can just load whatever .mid files she saved to that card into REAPER and you're good to go.

HTH-

Thanks so much Susan - I'll try to find the details - I had heard it was possible. Sure would make things easy.
