Cant ever get REALINSERT to work right

I have numerous pieces of hardware processors. One of which is a lexicon MX200 which I like to put the aux drum bus through.
I can get it to work fine just using the regular hardware output on the I/O. But of course there is latency. Nothing I can notice with my ear but of course its there. So when I put REALINSERT in the effects channel of the aux drum bus, choosing channel 3 for all channels. The signal is going through the lex. I then PING and get -73 samples. Yes, negative even with hardware inserted. see pic

Any insight into this would be great,
