Default Combine several VSTi as virtual GM drums

Hi! I'd like to combine several VSTi instruments into one virtual drum, so I can have one GM MIDI file on the virtual drum track and it triggers the instruments assigned to kick/snare/hihat/etc.

Is there a way to do that in Reaper or is there a host VST (paid or free) that can do this kind of virtual drum mapping from multiple tracks?

Sorry if the answer is obvious, I've just been wondering for a while but never attempted to delve deeper into it so far.

you can have multiple VSTis on the same track & you can set them to receive particular notes & send on specific outputs.
Do this & save it as a track template.

I didn't think about that. Of course, that makes perfect sense! And then I can save the setup as a track template.

Perfect, thanks a lot!

Most advanced method, in my opinion, which I am using at least is the "pin technique". You can have as many stereo outs as you want, all midi notes from same track.

Example with multiple ReaSamplomatic5000:
- add as many RS5k as you want, if you want 8 stereo outs, just add 8 * RS5k
- set their pins each differently, first: pins1/2, second: pins3/4...
- route those out to new tracks for comfortable mixing
- when finished, select all prepared tracks, save as track template, have fun in future saving all those steps from repeating.
