The upcoming 6.14 release won't include any of the recent media explorer or razor edit features.

Melodyne still won't re-detect algorithms when all clips are selected.
not sure if that was being addressed.
(nope, it wasn't)

Finding some severe issues with Melodyne ARA lately if the media playback rate has been altered, ie through a stretch or tempo-change.
ie. with the above conditions, try stretching a blob inside of Melodyne - it freaks out and ruins the blob (static noise), requiring a Delete/ReAdd Melodyne.
Anyone else? I'll make a vid if this is happening to others. Kind of a mess as it could destroy hours of work if you do a tempo change after edits.

Are "Area Selection" now called Razor Edit? Just to know
edit: Nevermind, I figured out myself, had to search through old pre threads and found this in Aug 24 post.

When I run 64-bit 6.14RC1 on Windows 10 (Home Edition), it goes through the splash screen, and then just disappears. No error message, or any indication of what went wrong.
I reverted to 6.13dev0908, and everything runs OK.
I tried installing 6.14RC1 again, and it does the same thing (splash screen, and then disappears).
Here's what the message in the event log says:
Code:

The last thing the splash screen says before it disappears is "Initializing Main Window ..."
It looks like it scans the VSTs before that, so I don't think the problem is with a bad VST.
EDIT #1
It looks like it is something in the "reaper.ini" file. If I load an old one from a few months ago, Reaper runs. I'm going through the two files line by line to see where the problem is, and will post what I find, just in case it bites someone else. I have a feeling I must have enabled some setting that was available in 613dev0908 and was removed from 614rc1, but it could be something else.
EDIT #2:
The bad "reaper.ini" file (the one that worked with 613dev0908) has a line saying:
The old "reaper.ini" file from a few months ago (that works with 614RC1) has a slightly different line (it says =3 instead of =27):
There are many many other differences between the two files. But this was the line that was causing 614RC1 to fail. I have no idea what that line means or does, but changing it made 614RC1 start working.
I did do a bunch of toolbar edits and rearranging last week, and I have a feeling that is related to this. But I don't know what the line means/does, and don't know how it got set to a bad value in the file, since everything I did was in the Reaper GUI (I wasn't hacking around in the "reaper.ini" file).
Oh well ... it's working now.

I guess they're going to be back after the 6.14 release - together with Razor Edit - in the next pre-release version...

This is still happening with Master Track Panel set to 150% or higher.
The FX text also isn't centered in the Master tcp but maybe I'm missing something here.
It would be nice, if there could also be an option to hide FX, Sends or Parameters on individual tracks or at least the master track without having to resize them to make it look a little cleaner.
Thank you for the updates

MIDI Editor right-click main menu opens again at the mouse cursor, thanks for the fix.
Tooltips for the buttons in a floating toolbar still hide under the toolbar. If I place licecap over the toolbar, tooltips show correctly (top part of the picture)? Without licecap, tooltips are under the toolbar.
edit: I apologize, made a classic error of not comparing default installs. Default 6.13 vs. 6.14 is fine in this regard. Still trying to figure out where the settings got messed up...

Done!
Thanks!
Looking back over this thread, I think this may have been the problem:

I had added the Media Explorer Toolbar to one of my floating toolbars. I added it on a whim while I was making other toolbar changes, and hadn't noticed until now that it was an experimental feature. Given that the problem seems to have been related to my recent toolbar changes, I think this is probably the cause.
EDIT:
After fixing the problem, I found that Reaper crashes if I try to recall a windows screenset that contains the floating toolbar with the Media Explorer Toolbar in it. It's easy enough for me to recreate the bad screenset, but I thought you might want to know about that also, in case you can prevent the crash.

I've been playing around with the new fx and send lists in the TCP for the past couple weeks. Here's a list of things I would love to see added/changed - The option "show sends in TCP" is a little confusing. If I change the themes WALTER to give the send their own list, they will show regardless if whether this option is turned on or off. Either the name of the option should be changed to something like "show sends in TCP fx parameter list" or the function of the option should be changed so that if it's off the list doesn't show.
- Could there be an option to not show the track numbers of the receiving track on the send list. The name of the receiving track is much more important to see than the number. The number is just taking up space that could be used to display the name. This is especially annoying if the track number is more than 2 digits long:
- If a track does not have any FX, the empty slots don't show up in the TCP (bottom track in the image below), but as long there's at least one effect the rest of the list will be populated with empty slots (top track in the image below). For the sake of aesthetics, I would prefer to still be able to see the empty slots even if there are no effects on the track, especially since the send list works as I'd expect and show empty slots regardless.
- I would expect that double clicking a send knob in the TCP list should put that send at unity (the same way that double clicking on the volume or pan controls works), instead it opens the controls for the send in a separate window.
- I think the context menus for the TCP lists could use some work. If I right click an empty send slot I should be able to assign a send directly from the menu (like I can when I right click the the track routing button).
- If I right click on an existing send I would like to have access to all parameters (phase, source and destination channels, pre/post fader) right in the menu instead of having to open the send controls in a new window. Right now the only parameter available in the context menu is mute
- If I right click on an existing FX I would like there to be a menu option for showing the embedded ui for that effect
- I would love a click modifier for toggling a send between, pre-fx, pre-fader, post-fader, similar to how there are already click modifiers for muting and deleting sends.
- It would be nice if there was some visual indicator to differentiate between pre and post fader sends in the list, as well as hardware outputs (different colored meters perhaps?)
- The way that the empty slots light up when I move the mouse over them is such a tease! It makes it feel like I should be able to assign fx and sends to specific slots, but of course this isn't actually possible. Not actually expecting anything to be done about this, just felt like mentioning it.
- Could there be a way for the header for embedded fx guis in the TCP to display horizontally across the top of the gui (like they do in the MCP) instead of vertically along the left side?
Overall being able to show FX and Sends in the TCP is a killer feature when setup well, but I hope it gets some default love soon, otherwise I think a lot of people (particularly new users, and those who don't follow this section of the forum very closely) might miss out on it entirely. Right now the options to show fx and sends in the TCP are both turned off by default, I would consider changing that. There are also no layouts in the default theme that contain a dedicated send list, or embedded fx area. The way that the size and column arrangement of the list shifts around in the default theme depending on track height and width can be disorienting. It's much easier to work with if each fx/send maintains a consistent vertical position in the list, instead of bouncing around between columns depending on the panel size. I spent hours and hours fumbling around in WALTER so I could get the lists to display in a way I thought looked nice and made sense, but I wouldn't expect most people to have the patience for that.

Spent a bunch of time on these myself.
- Yep the sends and inserts enabling on TCP is a bit weird.
It would be way better if they were split in to upper and lower ala the MCP.
- Inserts and sends have limited space for sure, have made mine wide on the TCP so it is no bother, but I really really want a track naming panel, full name and short name, depending on insert slot size it would use full or short name, short name would remove the number too and the full name and number would be on a mouseover.
- You need to turn on show sends when space available to make the slot persistent, again this is pretty weird and goes back to point 1 above.
- I think the double click is just a forgotten option, double click works in the MCP and the TCP send already supports ctrl/pan and shift/fine, so yeah, suspect it was just missed by mistake.
- Again this one goes back to the weirdness in point 1 above, if you have show sends when space available enabled, the slots become persistent but are fx slots, so when you right click you get fx menu, but if a send is on the track you can right click that and get routing menu, so as I suggested above, the TCP fx list really needs the option of having the same split as the MPC, but you seem to actually have a split somehow, no idea how you did that hahaha.
- It is the default send menu, you can put whatever you like in there in the menu editor
- This is also the default fx menu, you can have that in the menu, it is all in menu editor
- Yeah an action to put in the right click context would be nice too.
- 100%
- That is just the mouseover imagery, you can change it
- Never even tried embed UI, always looks terrible to me haha
I have mine under the TCP, so they work well for me, but I really would like the sends split and be below the fx inserts, ala the MCP.
Also want to add here that the knob on the sends is pretty useless, it basically just takes up space and limits the movement area, the mouse should just click and move the actual send level indicator bar, I see so many people clicking on the indicator to adjust a send when I am teaching them.
Indicator = Send adjust
Knob area = Drag n Drop handle

The knob of a send in TCP doesn't seem to scale right in Default 4 theme.
As a request: Is it possible to have the same dimensions for fx, params and sends as in MCP? This would really make it super handy on small screens and working TCP only.
I'm on mx linux fluxbox, maybe it scales different here, the 2 screenshots above seem to have the same dimensions (TCP and MCP slots)...

TCP FX
I don't know if it's been discussed yet, but I'll ask.
Is it possible to add hiding of specific Fx in TCP ? I.e. for example on track 4 Fx, and I want to see only two for example in TCP.
Right click on the effect: Hide (hides a specific Fx)
Right click on the insert: Show all
-----
Edit:
And a little off-topic:
Please take a look at this - it seems to be a mistake (post 3).
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread....20#post2343120
1. Would like a double click to reset the volume of all selected items.
2. Would like the double click not to work on the locked item.

This will be added in 6.14 ?
+ FX shortcuts: allow more than 100 actions, use registered action IDs for new shortcuts to improve portability across systems

This works, but I don't want to have to turn show sends on just to make the slots persistent. I prefer to the sends in a separate list, and turning this option on shows them in the same list as the fx. Empty fx slots should be persistent regardless of how sends are displayed

the TCP fx list really needs the option of having the same split as the MPC, but you seem to actually have a split somehow, no idea how you did that hahaha.

You can edit the WALTER text in the theme's rtconfig file to create a dedicated send list in the TCP that's separate from the fx list. I'm a theming novice, and this aspect of WALTER is barely documented, so it took a LONG time to figure out how to get this working. Certainly not very straight forward or user friendly. This is part of what I was getting at when I said this feature needs some default love.

It is the default send menu, you can put whatever you like in there in the menu editor
This is also the default fx menu, you can have that in the menu, it is all in menu editor
|
Ok, I see now that you can edit these context menus by in the "extended mixer" sections in the menu editor. The name of these sections should probably be updated since it no longer applies to the mixer. Even with the ability to edit these menus, I still can't get all the options I'd like to see in the send slot context menus

Again, you can do this by editing the WALTER text in the rtconfig file for the theme you're using.

The relevant WALTER commands for adjusting the fx and send lists are set.tcp.fxparm, set.tcp.fxparm.font, set tcp.sendlist, and set.tcp.sendlist.font.
Here's the WALTER for my TCP layout if you'd like to look at it. Keep in mind it's specific to the track dimensions and image sizes in the theme I'm using, so I wouldn't expect this to work for everyone else. I should also warn you that I was experimenting and figuring things out as I went, so the code is kind of messy, not well formatted, and includes some notes I left for myself.
Code:
set top_margin [0 8] ;top margin, add this to move the button down
set fx_io_env_H [-40] ;horizontal offset to properly align io and env buttons with fx, add this to align the buttons
set fx_bypass_offset [-23] ;horizontal for the fx bypass button, add this to keep the bypass button aligned witht the fx button
set fx_io_env_V [1 23 1 1 1 1 1 1] ;vertical spacer for fx, io, and env buttons, multiply by this to get the buttons vertical position

Been waiting for ages for FX and send lists in Reaper and as a workaround was using doppelgangers script for this.
Is there a way to enable FX and/or send lists without having to learn WALTER first? BTW, I'm using a slightly (colour-)modified default-5.0-theme.

I'm on the opposite side... I kind of hate the current implementation because it gets in the way of vertical scrolling in TCP.
Is there a way to hide this new FX (single plugins) buttons section without having to deal with WALTER?
EDIT: found the setting in the "options" menu (I was desperately searching in the preferences...)
Thanks,
Mario
