Default Best way to sync Ableton and Reaper? (Locally)

Hi!

I would like to have both programs syncing in the same computer. My main concern is to be able that both times(beats) and play positions match/sync occuretly.

Does anyone successfully achieves this?

Between I am on Osx 10.9.5

Thank you!

Hi,
from Reaper Fx Browser you can choose the ReWire: Ableton Live plug-in.
This will present an overview to select rewired audio and midi channels.

Tip1:
In Live 'options.txt' use this extra line (whenever Live is 'follower'):
-ReWireMasterOff

Tip2:
First startup Reaper and the ReWire: Live plugin, as it is the ReWire 'Master', then open Live.
Reverse when quitting the apps, and Off-line the Rewire plugin to prevent Reaper from 'hanging' when Live is shut down.

Tip3:
On the Rewire multi-channel in Reaper, I chose the ‘Classic Big Meter’ for TCP.
This channel is sending to other tracks, and not the master channel.

Here's a video I did a while ago for another purpose, perhaps you can get an idea of how it runs.
Fully synced and sample accurate PDC.
