what I meant was a look at the 3D work that Fergler said he does...
ummm personally don't think ACE is so great looking, but that is just my own taste... nothing to argue about..

Started it today:
I have an idea for how to make the faders, having a base image and another over top moving in paralax. Is that kind of coding possible in WALTER?
Other thing, is a VU meter possible? For each channel strip, it would be small but doable. Otherwise, gonna have to come up with an inspired by fictional meter
here's a closeup of the knobs:

@ Fergler -
That's interesting...cool.
As to your questions...the fader is one image plus the background strip. But basically just one fader image, and no WALTER for layering that particular way. And no vu in the theme itself, but that's being taken care of for this theme...
Right, hopi? (~:

How are these 3d knobs relevant to theming in Reaper? Isn't it all 2d?

Rendering a 2d image, accurate specularity in particular. Most of the real work is still done in photoshop or similar
If WALTER supports it, you could also make a 200 frame animation for each knob

Fergler... NICE work! That is looking lovely...
first, about the vu meters, sadly we can't have them directly in a reaper theme.. there just is no way at this time... but just as of today we now have this:
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/21184/VuDu%20VU%20Meter.zip
which is a vst plugin of those meters and in the multi version it looks very much like the REDD meter bridge...
The png stacks can be used for knobs but I don't think they can be used for sliders.. again ..sadly!
Some of this makes sense when we consider that theme parts, like a given layout for the MCP or TCP can be made to resize...
You can imagine how it would not work with a png stack for that, ..eh?
Some details about that can be found in the White Tie sticky topic about Special Pink [and special yellow ]
so we are stuck with these certain limits...
Nevertheless... I and I'm sure Cinci.. really appreciate your work.
Since I know almost nothing about using 3D programs... I'll ask this:
Can you generate a png stack of any given number of frames?

I have done it in a couple of themes using high frame stacks, and it worked well...just a larger stack file size.
And absolutely I appreciate it! Like I said, really interesting stuff! Would love to test out the 2D image renderings... (~:

Can definitely render out stacks, I just make a zoom in on the knob and render an animation of 200 frames with the knob being turned.
I am having trouble right now setting up the materials, it's been ages lol. But I'll keep at it. My reference is the Waves abbey road REDD
http://www.waves.com/1lib/images/pro...-51-stereo.jpg
Also what to do about solo, mute, fx, etc?
Random idea: what if the fader was actually a knob... with a vertical image and the actual fader image moved down some pixels every frame?

I don´t refer to look of ace but in one 3d monitor ace shows great and reaper shows distortioned and poor worked...

Am I missing something obvious? What is ACE?

Oh, so you use a 3d mockup to render out a large png stack?

Fergler... thanks
there are also some possibly useful images if you google for images
for REDD Console
don't know if they will be helpful or not..
for example:
https://www.google.com/search?channe...IHgCw#imgdii=_
ACE is a vsti plugin... don't worry about it since IMHO it does not really apply to what we are attempting here... lol it's a REDD Herring...
It would be great IF the slider could be a knob as you suggest but I do not think that can be done.... I have run into a similar issue trying to do that with some of my Nebula skins... can't use a png stack in that way there either...
One thing about a knob png stack to keep in mind...will always be about where [what angle] it begins from and ends on...
Cinci will have to specify what he needs in that regard.
believe me, we all wish we could use png stacks for sliders and meters!
White Tie tried every way he could think of to trick WALTER but no joy... so we have what we have.

If I render out all 359 degrees he can pick and choose what resolution and range he wants.

Cool...I like the sound of that! (~:
You really have my interest with this dimensional rendering idea. How soon could some images be available to test?

I need to brush up my material rendering and re-learn a few things but not too long. I'll give it a good push monday I think
