Default How to know how many samples I just slipped this item...?

So I have 10 tracks of multi-mic'ed drums. Now I slip edit one of those items to line up with another item.

How can I determine how many samples I moved that item?

I need to know that to apply the same nudge (slip edit) to all the other project files (one for each song).

Not a great screenshot, sorry. But I right clicked at the top of the timeline to get the option for "Samples".

OK... I might be able to determine how many samples an item is moved, but that's not what I'm doing, the item is in a fixed place, only its contents are moved by some samples left or right.

I realize now that I did not explain clearly enough what my problem is. I do not move items, I move the contents of takes (Alt+left drag on Windows). But maybe it is better to move the whole item, then I can zoom in to see exactly how many samples it was moved. I'll try that, thanks.

When you press Alt and press the left mouse button with the cursor in the item you should get an info line in the transport panel with something like:

Start offset: x.x.x. / x:xx.xxx

and if you move the waveform within the item some more numbers pop up. But I guess it is only beats and time and not the samples. Maybe you must play around with the project settings.

Does this help?

The term for this is 'move item contents', but there is no further information about it in the user guide.

The tool tip doesn't tell me the number of samples. Even if I have samples selected to show on the time line. As you say, it is only beats and time and milliseconds, not samples...

If I move the whole item (and not slip edit the contents) I can after-the-fact determine how many samples it was moved. That works, but is annoyingly cumbersome.
