Thanks for your help
Blimey its been a few weeks since I had the time to say hi. Thanks to everyone who helped with Slowdown. For my first composition on the guitar I'm feeling really happy about ninety odd likes, reposts and comments on Soundcloud over the last month. I never imagined that people would like it that much. I haven't made the suggested changes as yet but intend to do so over the next few weeks.
I realise that this is simple stuff, but being autistic it can take a while for the penny to drop.
I have been in thinking mode. I was so intent over the last year when playing guitar, on getting my playing and compositions to a point where they were almost almost a complete track, I hadn't really considered what a Reaper would do for me.
I also don't normally think about what I'm doing, I just go with the emotion. I started with reaper just over a month or so ago, and I've become aware that I don't have to cram all the notes I want in the track into one fluid guitar piece.
I can now make tracks with a variety of instruments doing the different parts I want in the track. Then I suddenly realised that this is a different type of composing, more like having an endless orchestra at my disposal. Just making that leap of thought has made me excited as opposed to overwhelmed and is helping think about how I break down my guitar tracks into fuller productions in reaper.
Its also made me consider pushing the stock vst sounds beyond the default ones. That's a different level of mind bending button poking coming up.
I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you all, my partner is also amazed at the community here, everyone is really encouraging and supportive. Soundcloud has proved to be similar in its support. Its made a massive difference to me personally, helping me to articulate my creativity at last.
Hopefully I will have something new to upload in the next few weeks after taking into account all that you guy's suggested.
Thanks again
Tim
