Just download and insert the file in your Reaper folder called "Color Themes", and it should then appear in your list of skins when you open Reaper.

First, have you already downloaded the color theme? If not, you will need to extract the compressed file to the 'Color Themes' folder inside the main Reaper folder. I like to use winrar to do so. You can get a trial version of it for free online. Once you click on the skin download link it will open automatically in winrar. You can either extract it directly to the Color Themes folder, or you can extract it to a different folder of your choice and then just copy and paste from there into the Reaper Color Themes folder. I do the latter, don't know why really. I guess I just like to see the files before putting them into their destination. Let us know if you have any more troubles.

Okay, what Am I doing wrong? I have downloaded several themes and placed them in the Color Themes folder. I have 4 new ones in there, I have done this on my laptop multiple times, but on my new windows machine the themes will not show up. it only gives me the option of the default, default 2, and classic theme...help?

I downloaded the #Grimms vGCS theme and it had a #Grimms vGCS folder with .png files in it. where does that folder go? i put it in color themes with the tshirt looking theme file and the theme only changes the mixer and icon bar color the 'new' tracks are default color.

Default I don't understand

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong here? I've done this several times before and I can't get it to work this time after a reformat. I wanted Apollo for 3.78, (will any version of Apollo work for 3.78 btw?) no go so tried this theme and still same result. Nada. I can't see why this is so difficult @_@

They should not be in the InstallData folder, but in the ColorThemes folder in AppData.

Even after all these years I still have not worked out what is important in the InstallData folder and why any of it persists after installation.

You can also install .ReaperThemeZip themes by drag&dropping them on Reaper's GUI.

You can also install .ReaperThemeZip themes by double-clicking the file and Reaper will open with the new theme installed... how's that for simple?

Greetings! Ah, what a first post. Dunce cap and all.

I've done the various methods of installing a theme, but I'm having an issue with the "Old School Atari ST theme". The mixer strips, the transport and a number of other portions are shown as the old Reaper v3 (I think) default. Um..actually it looks as though only the arrange window and the scroll bars surrounding it and the fonts have changed to the 'Atari' theme.
Could this simply be an issue due to the fact the theme was built back in '09? Or am I missing something? Posts in the thread on said theme from '11 and '12 don't indicate anyone having an issue. :/ ???

This old theme will not point to correct image resource folder as is. Here's what you could try: Unzip the theme package. From inside the package, copy Old School Atari ST.ReaperTheme file and the image folder named Old School Atari ST to somewhere safe.
Rename the copied Old School Atari ST.ReaperTheme file to Old_School_Atari_ST.ReaperTheme.

Then pack this renamed theme file and the image folder together, name the package Old_School_Atari_ST.ReaperTheme.Zip. Finally rename the package Old_School_Atari_ST.ReaperThemeZip. Now it should be ready to be dropped into Reaper.
