Default Chord Track, need a little help

Hi all.

Could someone explain what's being done at the very start of this youtube clip, around the 0:05 mark? It looks like a new track is created but after that I'm not sure what's going on. I'm not MIDI-savvy so any help at all would be great. I'd like to set up a chord track like this to help learn a new song. Thanks!

It looks to me like he/she is adding or inserting empty items and then turning them into "Notes". Then uses "text" to put in the chords.

Just add a track on top of a project. Then make a time selection over one measure. Now go to the menu and select "Insert>Empty item". Then double click on the empty item and type a chord name into the box. Down at the bottom check mark "Stretch to fit item". That's it.
