Default any tascam 16x08 owners

Is it normal that when you run on the power switch on the interface that it does nothing until it has a signal present on the USB port?

Definitely not. The unit can run without anything attached to it, besides it's own power cord. What exactly do you mean by 'does nothing'?

The power indicator does not come on indicating the power is on. You wait until the computer has powered up so there is some activity then when you put the switch to the on position it also powers up. When I first received the unit from sweetwater, I was told to reinstall the driver.

The 16x08 had an Auto Power Save switch on the back that defaults to ON. If you shut your PC down, but leave the 16x08 powered up, it will go into a sleep mode. I had to power cycle it after powering up my PC. So? I set the switch to OFF! No more problems if I forget to power off the i/f!
