Default [SOLVED] Importing Folders from one project to another

Is there an easy way to do this? Lately, I've been having tabbed projects and manually copy/pasting. I know you can save fx chains and load them into projects but what about folders?

I'm with hopi on this, seems easy enough..
On the sub-project, select the folder and child tracks, then hit ctrl-c (assuming a PC). On the main project, highlight a track, then hit ctrl-v and your folder and child tracks will pop right in, along with any internal routing and automation.

Yea, becomes a pain would be much easier if it could be loaded like an FX. Otherwise, I'm sifting through many tracks/music cues looking for a specific folder that hosts say transition fxs with settings etc. Would make much more sense, not to mention a time-saver to save it and call it up whenever

I think I'm missing something here. You would have to identify that folder to be able to save it in the first place, no? Or are you talking about building up a library of preset routings and FX chains within a folder?

If that's the case, perhaps saving the folder (and child tracks) as a template (TRACK menu, "save tracks as a template")then just adding that template to a new project (TRACK menu, "insert track from template"). That's what I do with Addictive Drummer. The single import sets up a drum buss, crush buss, tom buss, two aux send/return sets, and populates the individual track FX slots with my baseline processing. Is that what you're trying to accomplish? This won't import automation data (which are time dependent), but you can save automation lanes, I believe, as part of the template.

Yes!! That's it! Such a time saver. I'm here redoing some cues for a show and opening 5-6 projects to build a pallet was becoming a pain, but yes, that's it right there. Thanks.

and did you know... you can have a zillion track templates named to make sense to you, and can open the normal explorer window on your second screen [if you have one] and just drag and drop them into your project[s]

maybe even better is this little script by Lokasenna:

Quote:
path = [[D:\Reaper 64 Portable\TrackTemplates]]
os.execute('start "" "' .. path .. '"')
of course you have to edit the location line
between the [[ and the ]]

and save it as a .lua file in your scripts
btw, you can make variations to open any location... then run the scripts from inside reaper...

I have one area of a toolbar called Locations that opens various ...umm, locations.... LoL
