Default EQ Automation Workflow

Hi just want to know if anyone have an way to do that (EQ Automation over a song ) in a simple way....

The way I'm doing it is put a track in write mode eq it till I like it, ( now I have maaany automation lanes, but that is ok ) go to the other part that I want other EQ, Eq it in write mode, when I like put it in read/trim mode and then clean up every automation lane till it is organized and sounding good.

The motivation of this post is because I really think is a better way to do that, less messy.

I either put them on separate tracks or add an item fx EQ to certain sections.

You can take a look at track recording and put it on audio output (mono/stereo). So you record the output of said track as audio.
It is less complicated but it means you have to play in it right.

Pretty simple, but you'll need to check your preferences and prepare some shortcuts or toolbar buttons.

Check my signature for the video link. If that is too advanced right now, check Kenny Goia's videos on automation first.

Depends on what I'm after.

If it's a track where you might have a few spots with the need for an alternate eq. A section that needs a stronger high pass, for example. I'll usually just split those bits to another track. Then I can just grab as I tweak and not fuss over keeping automation envelopes in check.

It would have to be something like dub performance where you're working eq to mess with and alter your sounds as you morph things around before I'd go with printing automation. In that case, I'd probably record a couple passes and comp my best "performances".
