How would I go about setting up a track to record the audio from drumcore?

How are you triggering Drum Core? Are you using a Midi Keyboard, or what?
When using any VSTi the performance is saved as MIDI data. This Data is what tells Drum Core, or Independence Free, or any other VSTi what to play when, and for how long & how loud.
So unless I missed it, what are you using to play the VSTi?

Have you tried extracting the zip files?
Click on those, then click on "extract all", and I bet you will see some .dll files in there.
Just for my own sanity and sense of organization, I put all plugin related .dll's into their own VST folder, and separate out all of the other related files into their own folder.

I'm a noob. I've just been using my mouse to click the indivudual midi sounds for now, until i get a btter undrstanding of how this all works. So I guess my next step would be to get a midi device? Right now I'm just trying to record something from drumcore, even just a generic groove, but reaper is recording from my internal compuer mic for whatever reason. I have to figure out how to switch it so that it record directly from the Drumcore program.
I do feel stupid, and fear I will be made fun of shortly. Although, this forum has been more than polite to me thusfar. perhapse I'm just ashamed at my lack of knowledge on the subjuct. Reaper seems perfect for me, if I can just get a grasp on how to use vts and vtsi's.
When I plug my usb mic in I know how to select it as my input device and I know how to select my output to my monitors. When using drumcore it's recording the audio from my computers mic, and I can't figure out how to change that...
Would it be a better idea to get a keybord style controller or a pad type for drums? I remember using my old Micro korg as a midi controller in EZdrummer.
My ex was much more computer savy as she has a degree in multi media. She was able to det things up for me befreo she robbed me of all my gear.
