Default 5 minute wait to open reaper!?

Hi all,
Does anyone have problems opening reaper due to the Kontakt loading screen?
I just use kontakt for Buster Odeholm’s bass plugins to make life easier and they’re awesome plugins, but I’m pretty over the 5+ minute wait to open reaper every damn time...
Can anyone help speed this up?

16GB ram laptop
I7 processor

It shouldn’t take this long!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Batch resaving is almost certainly the ticket.

That said, I wish Reaper could parallelize loading FX across multiple tracks to improve project load times, which are almost entirely bound by single thread performance. Maybe this would only be possible if the FX was bridged to dedicated instances, but I think that'd be worth it. Especially if it was also able to background-load the FX without blocking the rest of Reaper.

I offline the Kontakt instances in my templates for this very reason. I don't always use them and don't want to wait forever
