libSwell.so: undefined symbol: gdk_init_check
Hi Linux experts,
I already did install Reaper Linux 64 bit on a 64 Mint.I did a portable installation on a network share by typing "N" multiple times. This installation does work For some weird reason I also did a "portable" installation of Reaper Linux 32 bit on the 64 bit Mint. when I start thus Reaper I get the error message "libSwell.so: undefined symbol: gdk_init_check" What to do ? Thanks, -Michael |

I don't know the reason for the error, but I don't think there is any advantage to running 32 bit Reaper on a 64 bit machine. If 64 bit Reaper is working, that's all you need.

The "weird reason" was to check if 32 bit software runs at all on this system.
anyway, reamote_server does run without an error message - I did not check if it does something sensible, though) , -Michael |

I don't get any errors running a 32 bit REAPER that I just unzipped in my download folder. It doesn't seem to like my LinVST bridged plugins, but 32 bit REAPER for Linux is not throwing any errors on it's own here.

That's probably because the system doesn't have the needed 32b libs installed.
If you run 32b software on a 64b system, then you also need 32b libs for everything that the app runtime links to.

You could try the ldd command that will list what a binary links to.
ldd ~/path-to/libSwell.so It will show what is found and if something is missing.
