Default Tempo matching or Subproject?

Okay,

I've got a song with an A and B section. The A section is a completely different tempo than B.

I thought it'd be best to work on them sein separate project files, then stitch together the two finished stereo files.

Is there an optimal way to do this?

I’d rather work in the same project.

But if you wish to work with subproject.
  • Create the arrangement skeleton first.
  • Create region for each part. With is time signature, tempo map, etc.
  • Write at least one instrument, perhaps rhythm section for each part. Thus you’ll know if the arrangement could be stitched seamlessly.
  • Create subproject for each part. Work the details arrangement for each individual parts, from its own project.

Okay, here's the thing. I've already prepared the two sections in two separate projects. I'm trying to get myself out of a jam here.

Is it possible to export the tempo map from each project then combine in a new, third project? In effect, making a "master" tempo map?

IIRC you can export tempo map to MIDI file. REAPER could import the tempo map at edit cursor position.

Though i’m not sure how accurate the result as you expected. Why not just try?

copy and paste the tempo envelope points from one project to the next!
