Default Adding a record monitoring button

Hi, I'm not really into theming, but have been trying dozens of various themes of the years -- usually to get in different mindsets. Right now, I really like Greyground_B. The only problem is, it's missing a "Record Monitoring" button on the tracks in the track view. It's not a huge deal, because I can switch to the mix view and click it there. But it would just be nice not to have to do that extra step. Is there a quick and easy way to add that button?

As the necessary graphic files are already there, I would do the following, editing the rtconfig.txt file (this one is located in the resulting Greyground folder accessible once you have unzip the Greyground_B.ReaperThemeZip file) :

1) in line #24 (front...) add tcp.recmon in the controls list, just after tcp.recarm.

2) edit the line #44 from this...
set tcp.recmon [0]
...to get this :
set tcp.recmon h<35 [0] w<220 [0] [181 100 26 18 0 0.5 0 0.5]

3) edit the lines concerning tcp.pan/width controls from these :
set tcp.pan h<35 [0] w<235 [0] [179 102 45 13 0 0.5 0 0.5]
set tcp.width h<35 [0] w<267 [0] [213 102 45 13 0 0.5 0 0.5]
set tcp.pan.label h<35 [0] w<235 [0] [179 102 45 13 0 0.5 0 0.5]
set tcp.width.label h<35 [0] w<267 [0] [213 102 45 13 0 0.5 0 0.5]

... to get these :
set tcp.pan h<35 [0] w<260 [0] [204 102 45 13 0 0.5 0 0.5]
set tcp.width h<35 [0] w<305 [0] [238 102 45 13 0 0.5 0 0.5]
set tcp.pan.label h<35 [0] w<260 [0] [204 102 45 13 0 0.5 0 0.5]
set tcp.width.label h<35 [0] w<305 [0] [238 102 45 13 0 0.5 0 0.5]

Should do the trick, once you rezip both the Greyground folder and the .ReaperTheme file together, change the resulting file extension to .ReaperThemeZip and put it back in the \ColorThemes subfolder of your Reaper installation.

Ah, cubic13 was already there while I took a coffee break. Well, since I also spent some time with a quick solution, here's another layout example. In this one the monitor button is placed after the solo button.

Changes in rtconfig:
front tcp.mute tcp.solo tcp.recmon tcp.label...
...
set tcp.recmon h<35 [81 91 26 18 0 0.5 0 0.5] [81 81 26 18 0 0.5 0 0.5] ;[0]
set tcp.label + w<280 [0 0 0 0] [16 0 -16 0] h<35 w<210 [106 91 492 17 0 0.5 1 0.5] w<280 [106 91 479 17 0 0.5 1 0.5] [90 91 482 17 0 0.5 1 0.5] w<210 [106 81 492 17 0 0.5 1 0.5] w<280 [106 81 479 17 0 0.5 1 0.5] [90 81 482 17 0 0.5 1 0.5]
...

If you want to try this one too, edit the rtconfig lines shown above. Or replace the original rtconfig.txt file inside the theme with the already edited version attached in here.

You guys rock! Thank you so much. And it might amuse you to know that it still took me four tries to get it to work, even after xpander did all the work for me.

Cubic13, I needed to read your last instructions more carefully. Thanks again, to you both!
