Some internal multichannel improvements in Reaper
Hi,
Even if Reaper is already a dream for multichannel audio, there is yet a few zones where some improvements can be needed. Some of them have been reported since a long time, but there is certainly other ones that could benefit from a special look ? The Jog/Scrub feature outputs only to the first two channels : https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=107369 There is a bug (?) with the Elastic Audio algorithm that prevent it to be used on files with more than 48 channels : https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=181279 Of course, the possibility to set freely the track channel number we want ;-) Any other ones (NOT including ReaSurround related) ? |

Being able to freely set the number of track channels is a big one for me. I would welcome that.
Another one is the ability to choose which channels are displayed by track and master meters. I often run first order tracks for FX even in third order projects. My FX templates use complex internal routing with 16 track channels but only four of those are actually input and output audio. At present, I only have the option of two channels or all sixteen displaying in the meters. Ideally, I'd like to be able to select just the first four channels. It would also be great to be able to select a range of channels to view on the meters too. On my master meters, I have the first two channels as a stereo downmix and channels 17-24 as outputs to my Ambisonic cube monitoring array. I would love to just see channels 17-24 sometimes.
