Just installed reaper-looks great!
Cannot get midi to work though?
It is working ok on my mac-but reaper is not recognising the midi at all?
Tried reseting but doesnt seem to help.
Any ideas?

Try enabling the Midi device from Reaper preferences.

Perhaps you misunderstood. For a midi device to work in Reaper, it has to be enabled in the Reaper Preferences > Audio > Midi devices. Not reset, but enable.

Thanks for your reply.
I was enabling it ok- now I have realised I did not click apply after enabling!
The midi is now working-but I cant seem to get a sound now?
Can get it on the virtual keyboard and can see a midid signal when I press keys-but no sound?

Click the input monitoring button for the channel in question.

It might be a great idea for you to read the manual a bit, so you won't get frustrated by trying to learn every one of these rudimentary things by yourself. There might be a lot of them coming.

once again thanks for your patience.
And yes-you are right-I should read the manual first!
You know what its like when you get a new toy though-the manual is the last thing
you want to read!

... add a VSTi plugin to the track instead, then.

I do know. But it would be quite a bit more useful and faster than waiting for answers on a web forum. Granted, this forum is fast and helpful. While it may sound rough, in this case the greatest help I can give you is to recommend you first learn how to find the solutions by yourself.

If the manual doesn't help or you can't find the solution, please, by all means, ask.
