all I can tell you, is it's something that will affect some people, will take a lot of time and work, and will be developed at the same time as lots of other things in the 1.x line. Perhaps it'll be done in 6 months or so, maybe.

all i want for christmas is a software plug in that gives me that guitar sound on china grove by the doobies (key of E)...
cos i'm sick of tryin guitar amps in my life.
OR....
the fantastic/amazing guitar sound on david lyndleys mercury blues...

(LA BAND I BELIEVE ??)

sir...i will bow down before you with gratitude.

i'm contacting the folks at the AES and suggest you be given a tech award...just shows how backward the music mags aimed at musicians are. no mention of reaper yet.

Girl I love, I stole her from a friend,
He got lucky, stole her back again,
'Cause she knowed he had a Mercury,
She knowed he had a Mercury,
Gonna buy me a Mercury and cruise it up and down the road.

I think the wacky transcendent hot dog quality of the guitar sound is much enhanced by the sublime dumbassness of the lyrics. A truly wonderful cut. It's some kind of lap steel through a Dumble.

Actually, I think there is a Dumble model in Justin's amp sim, so maybe Reaper can help.

If these ain't the words of a cockos teaser what are they?

And we're not even sure that the grim twin won't come and get us before it's 2007...

From This Statement I Assume It IS (sic.) Video Editing. (Take It As Given.)

P.S. How Little Do I Know.

Just Figured Out Justin Is Not Human, So Beware.

Yeah, his some kind of made up web character, created by the mighty google servers artificial intelligens.
Reaper is the first app created by the computers themself.

oh god i hope not. turning reaper into an NLE would take it down a long, dark, meandering, never-ending road, and a lot would suffer. I suspect that the huge development team behind Reaper is already aware of this, and that in a previous board meeting they already discussed the setbacks inevitable in doing this, and it was validated by a vote from shareholders.

If Justin did that, I would be running, running very fast to the nearest Apple store and shouting "EVERYBODY BE COOL, THIS IS A ROBBERY!"

My current work place has just bout 8 brand new 20" iMac with ALL the extras for video editing. I want to run Reaper on them soo bad!!

Actually, having thought about it there's one common denominator that this forum has revealed that *no* DAW has/does:

User-definable GUI.

Everything an object; everything assignable to a "tool": button, fader, envelope. Everything skinable. Make the GUI start out as a blank window, you add (via a wizard) the tools you need, where you need them, the size and location you want.

I would presume everything in the menus and preferences manifest themselves as C++ objects; there should be a way to make something sort of like a "lite and easy" Visual Basic sort of deal, where you drag/drop tools.

You could make custom GUI's for tracking, overdubbing, etc... Given the way some new software is modular - Kore, etc., I might extrapolate Justin may have thought of how that approach would apply to a DAW.

..at the same time I could also envision something like a hyper unwieldy version of Traktion, but...

re...."T.....N"
oh god no.
i dont want to spend my time dragging stuff all over the place.
i want to record.
every time i tried it i felt i was playing a computer game set
in egypt in the middle ages. dunno why. like some old bygone empire.
the problem with some programmers today i suspect is they were brought up on too many games.
my biases are showing.....lol.
i think where rpr could score is in the world of artificial intelligence. this...i think is the future of daws.
me personally...think its cheating...ie....take a junk vocal n autotune it to death. this is a basic example.
true artificial intelligence would be to analyse all the tracks in a song structure and attempt to improve the song picture.
but for me...i would sooner build a song from ground up including the little flaws,.....rather than being ultra perfect like some radio stuff.

True artificial intelligence, would send the singer home, and book you a better one
