Default Steinberg UR-RT2 USB Audio Interface with 2 Rupert Neve Transformers

Interesting new interface coming out May 1 - anyone heard of it?
Wonder how low the latency is?

How odd. They're going to put $200 worth of transformers in a $150 street box?

If they no longer make a $150 version they're shooting themselves in the foot, the UR22 is a great deal at that price point. I would guess they're going to double the value of the transformers and ask $550 for this?

If they can get away with it for less than $350 with Carhnill "Marinair" transformers it should do well against the Golden Age and Warm Audio offerings, otherwise the onus of "2 faux-"Neve" channels versus 1" kinda falls on Steinberg.

Yeah, they've got to hit $350 for this... Interesting...

Sounds gimmicky for selling shiny new interfaces. If they are any good, put the preamps/transformers in a separate box for use with any interface.

It's not even a Neve preamp. It's stil a Yamaha preamp, with Neve trannies. Didn't know Neve did trannies

Well, I have nothing against good audio transformers, but to be realistic, this is mostly about selling the idea of some magical neve sound to people recording in their bedroom.
