Default Some free plugins (With JSFX versions)

Hi guys,

Found these not long ago, the beauty of these plugins is that they come in vst and jsfx versions (with the same gui as vst).

The SLAX compressor, the transient shaper and the bass professor are great. Haven't tried the delay yet but don't doubt it'll be usable.

Download the jsfx versions and they'll work in Linux like a charm.

Interesting that you should post about these plugins. I just put a song up yesterday that was recorded in the Linux version of REAPER and uses the transient shaper and delay on the solo guitar, and also uses the Bass Professor on the electric bass. It's over in this thread. The delay is pretty cool!

Oh great!!

I mixed a song (Not mine just a free tracks download) and use them on it. I only used Reaper plugins and these and the results were quite satisfactory

I love Bass Professor 2 and have been using it pretty frequently on my bass tracks. The transient shaper helped a lot with taming the transient attack on some notes that were sticking out on the Strat.

The whole group of Sonic Anomaly plugins are very useful.

I use Bass Professor MkII constantly, and I stick with JSFX because I switch between Windows and OSX regularly (and now Linux). The VST is Windows only, so it’s JSFX for OS comparability.

Tod introduced me to this developer and I'm liking all of them.

I just wish there was a tutorial or very clear manual for Leet Delay 2. It sounds like a tape delay like an Echoplex or Echorec, really rich and thick.

However, the repeats are quite hard. I'd love either a way to soften those repeats or a ducking feature.

I know I can probably find a lot of this in Satin, ADT, Kramer Master Tape, J37, or other tape emus, but I'm cheap.

(I'm working in Win10, but I didn't see anyone else discussing this developer.)

Try Witti's "BBD Echo". It's great.

https://stash.reaper.fm/v/25168/js_plugins.zip

If you already have it (it's a JS plugin), there's been an update to it as of the date of the last upload (Jan. 2019).

Default Where to put Bass Professor II?

I extracted Bass Professor II and SLAX to opt/Reaper/InstallData/Effects/sonicanomoly but Reaper can't see it even after rescaning. Where should jsfx stuff go? Should I have put them into an existing folder instead of creating a new one?

Thanks

That's not the correct folder. Install JS plugins in the effects folder which resides in the "Reaper resource path". To find your Reaper resource folder, within reaper go to the menu and choose Options -> Show REAPER resource path in explorer/finder. (It can vary based on where you installed Reaper.)

Thanks James. That worked! And they are cool plugs.

It's kind of interesting that Reaper has a "Where did Reaper put stuff?" pick on the menu. Good idea that. But I wouldn't have thought to look for it.

Yeah I guess you already have to have an awareness of where the JS plugins go. I figured that out relatively early when I started using Reaper in Windows. It's probably also mentioned in the user guide but I think I just searched through my hard drive and found it.
