Default Rendering Video

Started my first video project (been editing audio for about a year)

Recorded on a Sony Alpha in XAVC-S format
Audio in my Rubix 44

Rendered a 35 seconds video to an output MP4 file of 109MB !!

Huge file, I did something wrong.

Can anyone help (see pic attached for the rendering settings)

Thanks all !

Top right in the image has entire project selected. Is the project 35 seconds long or were you just trying to render a section. If a section, change from entire project to time selection or whatever that setting is.

Just a guess.

Good luck

Hi Rivercast,
selection of MP4 format (container) is fine, but then you have selected "MJPEG" as video codec, which is good for editing, but not so good and too big for final distribution, of course. Also WAV as audio will add to a final size.

You need to choose H.264 as video codec (and MP3 or AAC as audio codec). It is not available in plain Reaper installation however and you need to install FFMPEG library (free), then H.264 will become available as a choice in video codec dropdown menu.

EDIT: To get most info on this topic, you can read the Video Playback and Exporting thread in REAPER for Video Editing/Mangling subforum.

You're welcome

To edit title, click " Edit" button in first post, then "Go Advanced" button and there you can edit the Title.
Just add [SOLVED] at the end of the title.
