Default WTF .... another damn Blue Screen of Death

WTF ......... Id easily say it was my system, but
I'm running (with no problem) -

krystal audio
cubase
sonar
logic 4.8
goldwave
synthfont
ect, ect, ect along with a multitude of video editors
I wont bore everyone with.....

so what could be the problem ???????????

I think i better sit on the sidelines for a while
until we can work thru this problem -- sh*t.

too bad, reaper difinitely looks like it's shaping up to
be an excellent app.

Try running (with v0.52+) REAPER with (show audio configuration) and see if it gets as far as opening the audio configuration dialog.

Do you have any MIDI devices in your system? perhaps one of them is causing it..

i got as far as the audio config window using 0.053 via
show audio configuration.
but once i hit OK it blue screened and re sets.

sorry, not sure what you mean by midi device ???

i do have whats called "LoopBe1" (an internal midi port).
but reaper blue screens with it on or off ...

and i have a motu fastlane external midi interface.
are these what your refering to ........ ???

Definitely try uninstalling LoopBe and see if that helps. It's caused a lot of crashes for me in programs that were otherwise very stable. Works well with some, but is disatrous for others. Just a thought, but I've got a funny feeling about that.

OK if you got to the audio configuration screen, this is a good step. What audio mode/device was set? Try using WaveOut. It should be the most compatible.

I used waveout (sblive). I loaded and played the demo then
quit out - didn't want to push my luck.
