Default GUI Updates Affected by Ozone Tonal Balance

Here is a weird one.

Lately, in the past few days or weeks, I have noticed that my GUI refresh rate is being seriously inhibited. I do not run big projects or tons of plugins. Anyway, i have tracked it down to Ozone Tonal Balance plugin.

Even in a fresh portable install with one track playing a wav file, no CPU hit at all. As soon as I open Tonal Balance the gui refresh becomes really slow. Actually, Reaper does not even have to be in play at all for it to affect.

I have done the same thing in Harrison Mixbus and Tonal Balance does not affect the GUI refresh there. So, it appears that there may be an interaction between reaper and Ozone Tonal Balance, All the other Ozone plugins are fine, they do not cause any slow down in GUI refresh.

May I ask if you have Tonal balance that you see the same problem or not.

TIA.

It seems I am not the only one. I saw a guy on the Facebook group showing exactly the same symptoms, only it was a different plugin. A drum plugin if my memory is correct. But the GUi lag was identical to what I see.

Please, may I ask one of you who also has Ozone 8 to stick the Tonal Balance plugin on the two bus, open it and then see what happens.

This is driving me nuts.

TIA

FWIW, I can confirm the GUI problems with BreakTweaker, the Izotope drum plugin. It even happens when BreakTweaker is the only plugin in the project.
I have a decent video card (see signature) and I don't have these problems with my other VSTs.
BreakTweaker is quite a good drum machine, I think, but most of the time I use other drum VSTs for my beats because of this behaviour.
Which is a pity

Is it just BreakTweeker's GUI that is affected or does affect the whole pf Reaper? What I see is that it affects the whole Reaper environment.

Do we need to raise this a bug?

How do we get some attention on this?

Same here.
Works ok with previous version of Tonal Balance though. (8.01 for Ozone)

ah, that is it.. I recently updated Ozone to 8.02.

But here's the thing. Who is responsible? Who do we approach? It is a clear incompatibility between the two.

How do I role back to an older version of OZone?

It seems like an Izotope issue to me, since (hardly -just don't want to rule out that there are others behaving the same as well-) none of the other VSTs show this behaviour in Reaper..

I have contacted Izotope and informed them. I sent a video of the issue. They told me how to role back to V8,01 and that fixed the problem.
