They have their own problems to worry about right now. Believe me, this is the very least of their worries.

Keep in mind that I'm on PC so my version of Rea Tools will be quite the challenge to port over. The Mac community here is going to have to dig into the guts of their OS and do a bit of homework in order to port some of this stuff over. Any of you guys figure out how to change the cursors in REAPER Mac? Some of you may also want to start taking the plunge into AppleScript. We'll also have to dog pile on some of the FR's that we desperately need in REAPER.
Maybe I should assign every one a small job on the "to do" list.

I know. My comment was a stab directed at Avidesign. Since they cant even deliver long standing FR's of 10+ years, they'll find their user base like us going elsewhere. They are the source creators of the problem and choosing to attack it would look pretty funny.

10+ years on PT and still counting, with 7000+ grand of posts on the DUC. I still use Pro Tools everyday in the studio. REAPER needs a few more things in the editing department for me to completely switch. When that time comes, and it will, I'll be more than prepared.

I have to say amazing work you are doing. I've recently decided to make the switch although I've only been using LE for 5 years now, but after a hours of figuring out the new work flow I instantly realized that in a few years Reaper will be king.
I've already placed my votes, which was the second thing I did after introducing myself.
I noticed you mentioned something about splitting up todo task between people if there is anything I can help with let me know.

Ya, it's easy to predict how powerful REAPER will be in a few short years...and even months.

Awesome! Hopefully these will bring some relief to the many PT users here and also introduce faster and better workflows to the current REAPER community.

It's been a very slow process because of limited time but I'll keep chipping away at it.

Looks like Cockos delivers once again gents. We now have official themeable custom cursors:
http://forum.cockos.com/showpost.php...34&postcount=2
This will also be in OSX very soon. Amazing!

That it will be, I figure I might as well get used to it all now. It's crazy how fast they do updates, I've been watching it now for a few months and notice there is a new update like every month. Plus the forums are really helpful.

That is what it really comes down to in the end is the workflow. What is nice about it is that you can customize the behavior more to your liking with minimal fuss. Not to mention the options of hardware that gets opened up and the ability to network other computers to use Reaper.

Cool I can wait I have a lot of traveling down the rabbit hole to go. The other thing about this project you are working on is I would imagine a lot of engineers in Pro studios don't have the time and/or desire to learn a completely new DAW. This will allow them to get REAPER get your pack and the familiar environment and continue working as they always have. All the while having the ability to buy hardware around their needs while using a piece of software that can be customized to best utilize that hardware in their workflow.

I think I grabbed them all :
If I missed any, let me know and I'll add them to the PT cursor set.

Well, Lurking for now, and waiting for the Rea Tools dream to become a reality... Let's send Shane some coin. Over here in PT land we just had an update fixing a few very old bugs and (for some of us) adding a few. We're hoping for full 64bit by 2015 and Native ADC by 2020. Ha.

Are you using AHK to get the right click functions in REAPER to act like they do in Pro Tools?

No AHK used for those. I edited REAPER's context menus and used custom REAPER actions.

I guess the "blog" is right here in this thread. The odd thing is that the original OP doesn't even know about this as he hasn't returned since his original post here.
As a side note, it's quite refreshing to not see those rediculious PT "Mac vs PC" wars and "HD vs LE" wars over here like the DUC. Most of us here realize that the host OS just doesn't matter. Having said that, I think I found a way to reduce most of my AutoHotKey actions. This will make cross platform a bit easier for all of us.
I say we do an FR for "REAPER LE".
