Vst to load sample layers ?
Is there a vst that let's me load layers of samples on each key of a midi keyboard? Like 5 velocities of a snare on one key and so on up and down the keyboard? I wrote vst but it could be a vsti too.

Kontakt's the best but there's aslo Reaper's ReaSamplOmatic5000 that will do it too.

use rs5k. the more people using rs5k hopefully will result in further development (or provision of the source code for community edits)
that, and it's a great sampler.

Use whatever you want. Using RS5K to map a layered keyrange seems masochistic to me.

Ha ha, I had to look up the word masochistic and got this.
"deriving sexual gratification from one's own pain or humiliation."
Shortcircuit isn't too bad although it can be a little buggy. A few years ago I was looking for free VSTis for our
SMDrums program and Shortcircuit was one of them. It was okay but was a little buggy with the all the samples. I
don't remember all the details but I seem to remember it being a little crashy.
On the other hand, ReaSamplOmatic5000 (RS5K) worked fine, no crashes and handled all the samples without any problems.
Neither Shortcircuit nor RS5K have DFD so they can be RAM hoggish, which is my main gripe with RS5K.
RS5K is mostly suited for drums and percussion instruments since they need very few CC controllers.

ello-well tbh what i will suggest is not vst-but actually a lite version of a bigger programme--> and here's why..
over the years i've used a few hard+softwares and not so lightly to recommend either the nnxt or nn19 samplers: both exellent for all ranges of samplings..
in my mind,"ditch the rest,and go with the best" <for me,> that's a combination of both reaper+reason.
for a piddling $99 1 can gain access to features, which can seemlessly integrate with reaper either via rewire-or rearouting methods..99! (brainer,or no?)

Lite Reaper - It would be relatively easy, though time consuming, to customize Reaper to be a lite version. Edit the menus, theme, toolbar(s), whatever, and save them all. You might be able to set up a couple custom actions to switch between Lite and regular versions.
It's a lttle unrealistic to expect to map everything exactly like a different program does it, though.
