Default 'Judge Me' [Punk rock]

I've finally got the time to smash out some tracks for fun.
Not sure I've kept my mixing skills......or perhaps my hearing.
Anyway, check it out...

Cool track... Heaps of energy, and very catchy too!

Mixwise, you've got a big buildup in the low end below around 100hz. There is also a big lump around 200 that is muddying things up quite a bit.

Also, the downbeats at the beginning of some bars on the kick drum need some dynamic control. A little bit of a bigger hit at the beginning of the bar is sometimes good, but here they stick out a bit too much.

You obviously want to keep the punk aesthetic by not polishing it up too much, but I think just cleaning up those couple of issues would make the song punch a little harder.

Nice work!

Hmmmm ok. I'll have a look at that because I wasn't particularly happy with the low end. Cheers for that

Well, that's real punk rock - always reminds me of these
scenes: Here.

Yeah, punk has to sound a bit harsh and bumpy, of
course, but I would mix in the vocals a bit louder and
dampen the snare a bit.

The feeling comes across quite well! Good work!

Thanks mate.
I'm a by-product of an early 90's punk rock obsession with limited mixing skills.
So I suppose this is what you get.....

Very thrashy bro! guitars were thick as fuck 2. Im not a big punk fan to be honest but i liked it. feels like a classic punk rock thrasher with the unpolished but solid mixing. I could see jay and silent bob listening to this and crushing beers in front of the quick stop lol. Nicely done

I'd have to listen to it trough my DAW for mixing advice....

But through cheap buds and a cellphone (pretty much the target audience), it sounds like a nice, old school thrash punk song. I love the drive!

Maybe the bass was a hair loud?
