Default Coloured diagonal bars on controls?

I'm probably being dozy here, but what do the small diagonal bars that appear on certain tracks controls (volume fader & knob, mute & solos buttons)- red, yellow, green & blue?

Aha - I see now, thanks for that. I've no idea what the particular tracks I've grouped were grouped for! It was my first Reaper recording & I was probably messing with stuff that I shouldn't!
