Default Anyone using an HP Z1 workstation to host DAW?

I recently came upon an HP Z1 (G2) workstation that I'm using for my music computer. It's a few years old, but a pretty high tone workstation. Quad core, 8Gb RAM, Fast. Everything runs pretty well except for occasionally it stalls during playback in REAPER. Only for a few hundred milliseconds or so, then resumes. I have mot had this happen during recording, only playback.
Is anybody else using a Z1 and if so, are you experiencing this issue? Any thoughts as to what I might be encountering here, and if there is something I can try and chase down?
thx...Mark

Download resplendence.com`s latency checker & RUN IT.

It will give you an indication as to whether or not your computer is O.K. for audio/midi multitrack recording & if you have issues it will also give you some idea of where to look for them.

Default Thank You! That helped me find/fix problem

Thanks a ton! This app you recommended helped me to find and fix the problem. My issue was the CPU throttling setting was enabled. Disabling this through Control Panel was all that was needed. This was a huge help! Thanks again!

Excellent|! You might also want to check out "Glitch Fess" a e-booklet you can find via Google or similar search engine. It tells you how to get the best audio recording performance possible out of your computer. It is lengthy but you only have to do it once.

That sounds like it would be something I'd like to pursue, but a Google search on " Glitch fess" didn't get me anywhere. sp? Is there another tag to search that might get me there?
