Default Windows 11 23H2 is destroying my Reaper experience

Since I recently installed the 23H2 update of Windows 11 on my powerful Windows computer (12th gen i9-12900K with 32 Gb D5 memory), Reaper has been running very unstable (regularly crashing during a session) and the projects load very slowly. It all worked perfectly before I did the update.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or found solutions (configuration settings/work-arounds, etc.)?
I work a lot with the NI-vst instruments (KOMPLETE 14 ULTIMATE) and have installed the most recent version of Reaper.
My audio interface is a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20.

All ideas are welcome

Kind regards,
Hans

After I install any Windows update, I always check to see if things have/haven't be reset in the general system wide settings you find in articles like this: https://support.focusrite.com/hc/en-...s-11-for-Audio

After checking those off the list, if there are still problems I'd recommend reinstalling the offending plugins - such as those you say you use regularly by Native Instruments / Komplete etc.

If any of that helps or not, then come back and perhaps let us know.

sometimes big windows updates will set your power setting back to 'normal' you need them to be high performance.

I'm using 23H here with no issues.

AMD 7950x-Windows 11 23H-Reaper 7.10

Default Reaper crashes

I was experiencing loads of crashes with reaper especially when opening and closing plugin windows.

I'm still on windows 10, but in my case it was graphics drivers issues. I have an AMD Vega 64 and was running their Adrenalin drivers. On a whim I wondered if it was OpenGL related so I uninstalled the drivers and installed the Pro Graphics drivers.

That solved it.

If that didn't work I was going to switch out the card for one of my nvidia cards.

Runs well here and I´ve one 18i20 too.

No issues.

Try update focusrite drivers.

And/or also resets general audio quality in the system - in my case everything works great if windows audio and DAW run the same sample rate, but once in a while windows update reset system sound to 16bit/48 or somesuch (opposed to my normal 24/44 Reaper always works at) and thing suddenly get glitchy.
