Rocket,

I just have to tell you how much I enjoyed ALL of your videos. The way you make videos is the way videos should be made. Yours are fun and enjoyable to watch... nice pace and easy to understand. You don't try to do the "fast talk" thing or "talk above everyone's head to try to impress" crap I see in other videos online.

If someone can't learn something after watching your videos, then they don't need to be recording.

Your videos alone will do more for Reaper sales than anything else, imo. GREAT JOB!!!

Default Awesome videos!

Thousand THX for those great videos!

For a noob (like me) that's exactly what he's looking for! GREAT!

And the GlissEQ is really a very helpful plugin... of course we should mix with our ears - but the visual help is very nice as a guideline WHERE to start with the changes in the frequencies.....

I think that should be one of my next purchases ... AND i heard positive things about the voxformer as well! Hmm... maybe voxengo starts a christmas purchase once again - hopefully! Does anybody know something about similar voxengo plans?

edit:
@rocket
Your "laughing" from time to time is very nice... I was sitting in front of my PC and had to laugh with you.... cool!

Regards Jens

I just got a chance to watch these today. Nice job.

It's comforting to see that there are other people out there who are arbitrarily, yet consistanly using the air feature in Blockfish. I do the exact same thing. lol

Default Hey Mr. Rocket...

Many, many thanks for your videos. They have been a HUGE help in my progress as a newbie mixer.

If & when time permits, I could really use a video on mastering out of Reaper. I'd love to hear your take on how to use some of the cheaper tools such as Har-Bal and Voxengo's CurveEQ.

Your voice cracks me up.
You sound like the Reaper guy in the "Family Guy"show.
"now hit the air button by default"

Very informative vid.
I too set up my own project and followed along.
I also downloaed the Gliss EQ(with the dang beep sound)so I bought it because it works so well.

Nice job(two thumbs up for a :ducking demo)

Default Rocket, you Rock It! Reaper Turorial Videos

Rocket!!! Just letting you know that your videos have inspired and helped me. I appreciate you sharing with us "wannabees", "would have beens" and "will bees". One day I will be an expert like most of you. But for now, I wanted to say thank you to Rocket.

It's amazing. All those little plugin thingys are useful for something. I guess I must be in the right place (see signature below).

Hope he's still with us. Great tutorials - just what I need.

One question, for Rocket or whoever. Right at the end he makes adjustments to a track called 'Room', which seems to be a mix of all the drum sounds and he says 'this is basically the best reverb you're ever gonna hear'.

Can anyone fill me in on how that might have been created?

Is it perhaps a track with a receive from all drum tracks and a reverb plugin loaded? If so, presumably that would be a post FX receive from the drum tracks?

Just wonderin what that bit was all about.

Cheers.

It is a mono or stereo recording of the drums further away than the microphones recording all the different drum parts up close.

A good drum room is therefore worth a lot. A lot of folks here recording drums on a regular basis can attest to that fact.

You'll find this "room mic" in many drum plugins like BFD and Eazydrummer as a seperate mixing part as well.

Thanks airon.

Actually Rocket did divulge earlier that "Those are tracks bounced out from EZDrummer..." so I guess he got the Room track using the 'Room Mic' from EZDrummer as well.

Very interesting about the live recording method using a mic/mics at some distance though.

Cheers.

I can elaborate further and upload the cab impulses I have if you like..??..
Hmmm... I thought the podxt cabs WERE impulses? Are you saying the freely available homemade cab impulses OWN the built in line 6 cabs?

So how do you go about building your patch in realtime? Can you route the pod minus cab into a track in reaper with kefir as an FX insert and then load a cab impulse into kefir? Wouldnt the latency be ridiculous (on my machine a single instance of SIR seriously bogs it down in realtime).

Any help in making the Pod sound less pod-like would be much appreciated.

Yeah, Rocket hasn't been here since March and hasn't posted since last year. Hope nothing dreadful happened to him.

If anyone can think of a way of getting these tutorials back online I'm sure there would be many grateful Reaper fans.

I got 'em all.
If you guys want 'em,
Let me know where to put 'em or how to get 'em to ya.
They're on my home computer so it won't be till tonight or possibly even
later this week before I'll get a chance to do it tho' (just FYI).
By memory, I think there's 6 or 7 of 'em.
Cheers,

Generous offer: however, apart from Sendspace, or Rapidshare or whatever I wouldn't know what to suggest. There must be some more intelligent people than me around here who know what to do!!

yeah I thought about that too, and really didn't want to suggest those myself either, especially cuz I hear getting a bunch of larger up or down can be a PITA. And I don't have an account to put 'em on there as it is, I'd do it if it was the only way and everyone wanted it tho.
Cheers,
MoodSwinger

.....might have thought of an alternative, will investigate and get back soon.
Any other ideas or suggestions welcome too. would like to make it as easy as possible for everyone.

Okay I think I found a way to do it.
I signed up for a personal (free) account at ADrive.com
50GB storage 2GB file size and shareable, (supposedly) unlimited bandwidth.
Seems legit, but don't know anything more than that right now so I figured we could try with one file and see how it works out.

So now what file should we try first?
Is there a higher priority (need) for one over another?
If it works okay I'll get 'em all up by this weekend.

Cheers,
Moodswinger

Sounds great Moody,
I guess we could start with the first one to see if it will work or not(or maybe upload the smallest one first)
After you get them all loaded we can chage the link in the Wiki manual to your new sight.

****EDIT*******
For future readers - These are not my Videos (obviously) I just wanted it stated I'm NOT taking credit for these. Rocket did a great job on these and he deserves all the credit, I'm merely providing a way for everyone to have access to them. That being said - If for whatever reason this is unacceptable to Rocket or Cockos let me know and I will remove them ASAP.
Cheers all and enjoy.
BTW I PM'd Rocket to let him know 'bout this but given the above reasons I don't really expect a response. However if a Mod or Admin can email him, I'd appreciate it.

****** EDIT Sept 18th 2009 ********
Links updated to my server, so their shouldn't be anymore link updates needed. If something isn't working right PM me and I'll see what's up. Tried myself tho and should be working fine.
Also you can ONLY DL these to save my bandwidth, however I know some are in locations or have to use public computers for the internet, if you can't get DL's or have to pay for them, I'll up them so they can be viewed, but please PM me and I'll do it ASAP and PM you direct links. PLEASE - DO NOT make the links public once you have them.

Cheers,
MoodSwinger
