Default Force open plugins in FX chain window

It would be a lot easier for window management if all plugin windows would open by default in a FX chain window, instead of single plugin windows. Right now when clicking on a plugin in the mixer or when quick adding a plugin on the tcp panel it opens the plugin window separately instead of the complete chain.
A tick box to open up all plugin windows in their respective fx chain (regardless of key modifier) would be great!

Regards

Open fx browser, all plugins
Select everything (ctrl+a)
Right click>run as>embedded
Hit CANCEL and not OK (unless you really want to load every single plugin onto that track...)

Hey thanks for the suggestion, but nope, that does not work. When clicking on the plugin in the MCP or quick adding per right+click on TCP it opens always the plugin window alone.

Yes that will always be the case. Open the Fx chain if you want to see plugins embedded there. There is an option in prefs/plugins to only open allow one fx chain at a time, so you can see just the fx chain for selected track.

Unless someone will implement it (or not)

Thats why I opened a FR! I need to have open multiple FX chains for a fast workflow, but it is a mess with these floating single plugin windows.
And when quick adding there is no way to open a FX chain. Also when working with the mcp it is way more intuitive to click on the plugins, unfortunately they open as single floating windows then..

Personally I can't see the point but maybe you'll get lucky. My workflow benefits from never using the fx chain. I float single plugs from MCP and then get rid of them with the sws close all floating windows action when it becomes a mess.

I am coming from Cubase and when dealing with 100+ tracks single floating fx windows are a mess. Would be really great to have that option in the prefs to force the fx chain.

YEP! This would be real helpful!

and if i could sneak in a request to have "Automatically resize FX windows up/down" work in the DOCKED fx window as well?? It currently only works in a floating fx chain window.

THANKYOU!!!

I agree with your idea about auto resizing too.

+ 1 from me as well. I find myself control-clicking the fx in the mixer all the time.

Yeah, I completely agree.

I'll be happy to see an option to make the "click" action behave as the "ctrl+click" does for the FX inserts in the MCP.

Agree with all....it does suck on a laptop if you don't have a 2nd monitor for the vid real estate. Seems silly the chain can't stay connected.... gotta be easy code adjustment....?.. gurus plz help...😎

Aad…
another one!

Or just an option to inverse the normal click = floating FX with cmd+click = open FX in FX chain would be greatly appreciated!
