Default Add delay possibility to sends

I usually use different predelays for different instruments on the same reverb, especially on rooms and chambers. At the moment I do that by going a detour over a track in the middle where I put in readelay.

For example:
GTR --> Track with Readelay (e.g. 25ms) --> Track with the Room Reverb
Keys --> Track with Readlay (e.g. 15ms) --> same Track with Room Reverb

Instead of going that way it would be great if reaper just had another control for delaying a send signal, especially automating predelays would work great like this.

Greetings and thx for this great programm

While I think the FR is too specialized to have a chance of being considered there is a far easier way to achieve the goal.

- Put a bunch of ReaPack +/- delay instances (or any other pure delay plugin) at the top of the reverb track
- Use pin-routing to set their inputs to channels 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, ...
- in the sending tracks set the appropriate channelsto send to .

Thx MSchnell for your input. I dind't consider your proposed workaround. It's a good way to do this. I've been doing it so far with aditional Send Tracks in between the Audio Track and the FX Track where I insert readelay.

But especially when we consider working with hardware controller the advantage of having a delay-option directly at your track send level is huge.

Got the Idea to request this option when using CSI. It would make a great progress in workflow.

Btw: I don't think that Im the only one using different predelays on the same reverb

+1 for the delayed send

It's not just reverb, there are various use cases where this would simplify routing.

Interesting! could you tell some use cases for using this technique?

+1

Now i'm using a plugin called "mcfx_gain_delay" which let me add multichannel delays; it saves me a lot of time.

For example, I have a pretty complex routing with 4 guitar input channels routed to various destinations, and I have to phase align them.
Currently I have a separate tracks where I add delay, but ability to specify delay on the send would simplify the setup.

But in general, any case where you send to multiple tracks where some of those have to be delayed.

A multichannel delay could rather easily be done as a JSFX.

Yeah, there are few existing ways to do it, but I guess the question is if what is suggested here is a good idea or not.

I think it's a good idea because it allows simpler solution.

Ultimately it's up to developers to decide if they want to implement it or not.
I'm sure there are more important things to do, but this would be nice to have, IMHO.
