Please can somebody tell me what input output means???

That's for selecting the audio input and output of your sound card. If you have a stereo card you may not see many choices, but if you have a multichannel card (for recording many tracks at once) you could see quite a long list to choose from.

Inputs are entry points to your signal processing device (whether it be a fx pedal, a soundcard or a tape recorder)

Outputs are exits from your signal processing device
