might it therefore be an idea to change the comment on your page? It only says "Song(s) recorded with a Dell computer mic" where one would expect to find "Song(s) recorded, edited and mixed in REAPER, using a Dell computer mic for the vocals"...

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this seems a little odd, like someone trying to just promote their myspace page.. any chance you want to prove me wrong and post the .rpp for the project? It is very impressive, though..

If you can just upload the track to a different place,so I can download it easily,or just post the project file and the info about the VSTi/FX you've used.

You can post the .rpp file by using the menu on the page where You posted. Under "Additional Options/Attach Files" there's a button that says "Manage Attachments".

Default got my vote...

Whoa!! i like it

is it possible (upon verification of Reaper
project)that a low quality version of "califace"
could be the demo that comes with Reaper?
(no offense fluffy, sorry)
i just really like this song.

theres a unmistakeable, underproduced, raw
White Stripes feel to this song. i love the
white Stripes, they're my favorite out there
right now. anyways i like it lots, got my
0.99 ready for download soon as it hits Itunes.
hopefully it will make it to being the Reaper
opening demo.

Amazing what can be done with those little mics, I used to use the little round one, not much bigger than a quarter, that came with my old HP Pavillion, it didn't even have a stand, I would dangle it from a makeshift mic stand.

Well done...good mix..

also i think it's only fair that i add the drums were made from "hammerhead rythym" which i found on a google search yesterday.

i saw a thread about reaper on gearslutz (a forum i frequent to tease myself with gear i can't afford..) and downloaded it.

after i saw how decent my mic sounded with it i downloaded the drums, programmed a simple beat and tracked an acoustic guitar track, 2 electric tracks (gibson through my blues jr) and obviously the vocals.

i've been saving for some nice stuff (mics, pres, acoustics..etc) but im confident reaper will more than cut it for my software needs....why spend $600 on sonar???

so that's where i'm at guys, certainly would like yall to view my myspace page but it was posted so you could hear the song..not to the page. thank you very much!

also, i used iZotope vinyl on the vocals as well as some dx delay that came with reaper or my soundcardd

either way, no joke 64 bit tracking program that works WITH midi capabilities....this is the shit.

if this could work with vst it'd be unbelievable (**upon further review this program does work with vst's**). i am putting together a studio in the next few months to track my record and am seriously considering using reaper...you guys are awesome.

sorry if i came across "spam crazy"...no doubt i wanted that to be seen/heard!! i was definetly excited with what i created..

amazing what the human brain can do (not that the song itself is amazing, but everything combined....you get the point!) thanks guys..

Actually I thought it sounded more like David Bowie type of stuff to me.. but it does have a garage feel to it.

Either way, I'll take Bowie as well, lol.

They'll be more to come, I'm just hesitant to track demos with my current "rig" (computer mic and integrated soundcard).

BTW, if anyone has any recommendations for a solid home rig let me know. Budget it going to be about 5k.

However, this summer I'll have at least a 4 songer out for itunes, napster, and maybe CDBaby.

Thank you! Just posted a new tune up the other day on myspace .. "no means yes" ...even sloppier than the first (believe it or not haha)!

It's a straight out rock song though..I like it.

Thanks again for the feedback...and thanks to Reaper

BradSucks' Look and Feel is THE song in the REAPER catalogue so far, for me. And it would very well serve the promotion of REAPER as a product: it's sober, direct, lightheartedly earnest, and it creates a great balance in various moods. A small but great song, and its best quality as a REAPER tune: its rather delicate melodic song line will simply not leave your head once you heard it come to development in the stripped down context of sober and grungy bass and guitar lines.

Is Brad Sucks a band Justin is involved in? If so, he's lucky.

I've talked to him on AIM a bit, he's a nice guy.. the reason Look and Feel is up is that he makes all of his songs available via a Creative Commons license, so you can remix them/etc...

yes, and archive.org is nice place to publish your song files, if you dont want to trade them, but you want to have some copyrights..at least its enough for me.

Thanks again buddy. Honestly I am just writing the ep and throwing demos up...I'll probably look for a singer and everything.

I'm glad you guys are feeling it though...makes me want to keep writing!

I just listened to some tracks of his album (http://www.bradsucks.net/albums/i_dont_know/). The guy is making great music. Good songwriter, and a good singer as well - which is rare enough. And he really succeeds in sounding like a band, while he's doing everything himself. After hearing some of his songs I still think 'Look and Feel' is one of the most poignant. Couldn't you make a REAPER mix of it and still use it as THE sample project? By the way, I heard some good things by you, yourself and U as well.
