Default .bak files into a subfolder?

Hello,
in my actual project's folder I have a long list of .bak files and underneath this there is my session file.
Is it possible to have them in a session's subfolder and be saved inside that automatically?
Many thanks.

Yeah I've been running autosaves for my new set up while I work out which things crash Reaper on Mac (turns out... a lot. haha)

I agree that folder management is not a strong suit of reaper.
These autosaves could be grouped into folders, within one master folder, for each day or per session.
Just not useful the way they are currently saved.

Total nitpick but it also irks me to see 'impulses' with a lower case i in my audio files folder.

Is this not it?
Options > Preferences >Project > Save to timestamped file in additional directory so you Just add a folder in your project Directory?

There is a way to get all audio/sample files put into a seperate folder in your project folder which is what I have done but I can't remember how I did it. When I start a new project i have Reaper set up to create a new project folder which I name and include a folder inside it called Audio. I wonder if the same principle can apply to .bak files.

I've set up that folder to be in my "Documents" folder. The behaviour I have is that when it automatically save the .bak file (every 15 minute, here) it goes into that folder. When I save the session, it automatically create a .bak file in the same folder where the session lives, so I have .bak files in two different destinations.

Thanks for the link to the video, very helpful.
I have set up everything and in my preferences i set up a "Reaper session backups" in my Document folder.
That folder is now present inside the Document folder but it keeps saving the .rpp-bak files where the main session is.
Is there any other preference I should change?
Thanks
