"Time selection auto punch" seems to have a glitch. If I load any old project and try to record in that mode, it just doesn't record anything. If repeat is on, it starts recording at the second pass of the loop. If the edit cursor is placed directly at the loop start (kinda defeating the purpose of that mode
), it records. It also records as expected if the project is new (only 1 track). It is not depending on "audio or MIDI".
Can somebody reproduce that?
Steps to reproduce:
0. Put on your mad scientist dress
1. Load an existing project
2. Make a time selection
3. Bury a box with $56.43 on your backyard
4. Make sure "time selection auto punch" is selected
5. Wait for full moon
6.
Select "Record:MIDI overdub (or replace) in existing items" as well
7. Tie your legs to the ceiling lamp and operate Reaper hanging upside down from now on.
8. Place edit cursor before the time selection (as if playing along a part before the auto punch starts)
9. Order pizza
10. Hit record and watch if an item is being generated or not.
11. Eat pizza
