Default M1 iMac with 16gb of ram

Hey -
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using the new M1 iMacs with Reaper. Mostly, I'm curious about the fact that you can only go up to 16gb of ram. Most of my older iMacs have 48-64gb. But I hear in general these new M1 machines scream.

Does anyone have an opinion on how theses iMacs can handle a moderate load of Reaper sessions with a lot of plugins, rendering, etc?

thanks in advance.

I have an M1 Mini with 16GB. These new M1 machines scream. I mostly use it for weekly podcast production, but I have lots of plugins doing post-processing, and have done our production pieces in Reaper that require MANY tracks.
I have never been able to beach-ball it.

I say go with it. If it doesn't work, you can always return it within 2 weeks.
