Default Basic video editing

Hi!

How do I do basic video editing in Reaper?
I'm thinking of trim clip start, trim clip end, untrim clip start, untrim clip end.
I have audio, video, regions, text etc.

Your best bet is to watch a tutorial video or three from https://www.reaper.fm/videos.php

Press the arrow next to the "Video" category and get great videos such as:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPULwlLjQOU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrqPG9z1OGc

etc.

REAPER is brilliant for basic video editing!

Thanks, but I didn't really fin what I was looking for (learned some other stuff though)
My question is more related to ripple editing. When I have a complex project of many tracks and cuts, and I want to adjust let's say video-item_03. Let's say I want to roll out the start 1s, without cutting that amount of item02.
Then I need to adjust that back 500ms. How do I do this in Reaper?
Is split/delete (ripple on) the only option for trimming? And insert empty space the only option for untrim?

That wasn't clear in your post

I'm a little confused about what you are trying to achieve even with your second post. With ripple editing enabled you should be able to do even the most complex moving of material without worrying about messing up item crossfades further along the timeline.

Ok, I'm not used to video-editing, but my question seems quite basic.
Maybe ripple editing will do all I ask.
Maybe I just had some grouping-issues that led my ripple-edits to not work right. I'll try to sort it out.

I've got a few go-to tracks that always seem to fit no matter what I'm editing. I tend to lean towards instrumentals because lyrics can be distracting when you're trying to focus on the visual flow.

Artists like Tycho, Bonobo, and Emancipator have great tracks that are both upbeat and ambient, which might add a nice vibe to your editing sessions. Also, movie scores can be surprisingly motivating, and they're composed to enhance visual experiences, so that’s a plus.

Don't forget to check the licensing if you're using the music in the videos you produce, though. Royalty-free music sites can be super helpful for this. And if you're looking for resources on video editing itself, https://www.movavi.com/ has some useful tips and tools.
