I don't think Wavosaur is better than Audacity or that Audacity is better than Wavosaur. They're both useful in similar and different ways. I much prefer the way Wavosaur handles VST plugins but Audacity has other features that Wavosaur doesn't handle so well. Given that they're both free it's hardly worth weighing them up one against the other. Have them both.

You have it all wrong, when he does his edits outside the box he cuts the original 2 inch with X-acto razer blades.

Can you can have multiple editors available in Reaper? Not looking directly at Reaper at the moment.

Yes. In Prefs you can setup a primary and secondary editor.

I use RX2 for spectral noise editing but never really had a need for any other tool.
