Default Another report of plugins disappearing!

I tried every method of fixing this, and it continues to gradually say that "this plugin isn't available, blah blah. Previous settings were saved."

I'm new, and I love it. But, some stuff needs to be fixed!

Developers, help!

If anybody found a solution, let me know.

I tried editing the configs, deleting them, etc etc etc... moved the plugins to a new drive and reloaded them (that fixed it, but only temporarily and random plugins still gradually become unusable).

Try clearing the plugin cache and re-scanning your plugin directory

Also rename your reaper.ini so it is recreated on startup.

I tried the first one, as well as things that are similar to the second. I'll try that.

I forget the exact error message, but it involved something like "could load, previous settings were saved."

It seems to happen to random plugins, at random times. It became very wide spread, and afte searching, found some methods that seem to bring all or most of them back to loadable and functionable, but they'll continue to gradually do it, at random. I've confirmed that the problem doesn't lie with the plugins, and I've found posts from other users who experience the same thing. I've found ways for temporary fixing it, but most of them didn't fix all of them. It seems to be an issue with various .ini files, in the temp folder. Uninstalling, reinstalling, and updating REAPER had absolutely no effect on the issue.

If I recall correctly, some REAPER projects would have the problem on a larger scale than others.

Hi,

If these are plugins that you have used before successfully in projects *on the same computer* then, almost certainly, it is because Reaper has become blind to them, rather than it being a Reaper bug...

Either because :

- the VST path in Reaper Preferences has been recently altered or

- the VST plugin files (*.DLL, *.VST3) are no longer in the preferred paths (inadvertently moved or deleted)
