Default full sreen focus lost

That's a annoying behavior in Reaper in full screen mode.
When I open Reaper and click on a mixer slot in order to add or replace a plugin, OSX automatically switch from the workspace where Reaper is to the desktop where it opens the FX window.
Each time, I must close the FX window and re select Reaper workspace.
That's an annoying and irritating lost of time.

Is there a way to avoid this ?

Just avoid using full screen and just drag the window to it's maximum size ... I always work like that, because then the menu bar isn't hidden.

I place the app window below the menu bar in the upper left corner and then drag the lower right corner of the app to fill the entire screen ... my dock bar is set to auto-hide.

Yes, correct, the upper menu bar is visible. That‘s why I work this way ... apps are full screen except the small top menu bar.
