Default how to purge reaper and start clean?

i have a long thread going regarding some video nightmare issues. i've come around to thinking that i should purge everything reaper and start over. but how to do this?

i'm on kubuntu with the kxstudio stuff installed. i started out putting reaper in /opt. there are a couple of versions in there. when i started i hadn't gotten to testing video yet. once i did, i found playback issues. it was suggested installing in the user directory might avoid permissions issues. i made a ~/opt directory and have put a couple of versions in there in trying to sort all of this out.

can i simply delete the reaper directories to purge the system? how about the .config/reaper directory?

thanks,
babag
