Default Almost exactly three weeks

Fits perfectly my workflow average and The General Three Week Production Theory. I've made an another track with my shitty strat copy. According to timestamps, it was just 5 days of "writing" and recording then two weeks of obsessive remixing:

First time I used a slide, there's a chance I hit some notes. Lots of thinking on drum programming too, I was wondering if I didn't program stuff for too many hands. But I suppose single hits on toms and bashing the ride at the same time seem realistic.

Aside of that, POD farm, space off Synth1 pads, slate, etc.

Really excellent stuff there man. I hate traditional bluesy slide but this isn't that and more stonery, so a real big yay on that. I've listened a couple times now.

Yeah not a big fan of blues too. I'd need to tune it to open tuning to make it proper bluesy slidey anyway, I guess, and I'm keeping the guitar in standard E.

Drummer here. Your drum part is certainly playable and mostly realistic. The only advice I’d give is give it some velocity variation (this is most noticeable on the closed hi hat and snare) and a little more small variations within patterns. You won’t always hit every hi hat note in a pattern exactly the same way 16 times in a row, y’know?

I actually tapped most of it on an Akai MPD controller, so velocities vary a bit, but yeah, I lazied out a bit and there's some looping and copy pasting. There's a problem with programming drums, it likes to take infinite amount of time

edit: of course I quantized that shit, I don't have much faith in my sense of timing

Thanks! I work hard to fake the impression I know what I'm doing.

Slide guitar sounds smooth and buttery. I dig the ambient backing stuff too. The not slide guitar stuff is quite tasty too. Drums are COOL in the middle section. Good job dood!

I always enjoy this kind of vibe, if I had to make a minor comment about something it would probably be about not revisiting the tonic note too much in leads of the first couple of minutes; and not leave it quite so long in the preceding section before the section at around 3.14 kicks in, but these are only subjective observations, overall another cool atmospheric track, cheers.

Ah crap, looks like my reflex of not keeping the tune in the same place for too long is correct, it really is noticeable when it stalls for a couple of bars too long. The beginning leads are from early scratch tracks, everything I tried to replace them with got deleted ultimately. Plus I barely know what's a tonic note anyway (aside of the thing that makes "Dirty Harrys" bitter).

I just overthrew the three weeks theory, there's a new one in progress for like six weeks already, I want to finish, but it just doesn't want to happen. I play what I already have, in hope it'll sound like it's done, but when the playhead reaches the ending I have an odd impression that Reaper screen looks back at me with that "...and?" expression.

I like it.

I think sometimes we can be too analytical.
