Default workaround for UAD-1 pops and crackles

I have recently started noticing pretty horrendous amounts of popping and crackling in Reaper when using UAD-1 powered plugins. It seems like it started around with Reaper 3.3 and UA's 5.6 software. I haven't retrograded either software versions but instead used this method to get around this mess in Reaper.

It's really simple and others have probably done this, but what I do is just record the output of the audio tracks that use the UAD plugins in real time, it will play back worse than normal while recording, but once that's done, I remove the UAD plugs and disable the UAD plugs in the UAD control panel, bring all the processed tracks to 0 db, and everything is good.

Soon to try retrograding...
